Hand crafted right here in Blackfoot Idaho by Sam Thomas, who spent three years deployed in Iraq (2005–2008) supporting convoy operations hauling gasoline, diesel, and jet fuel.
Leatherwork is part of Sam’s heritage, passed down from his father and grandfathers, old cowboys who built their own gear by hand. That same skill and pride go into every strop we have made in this collaboration.
Each strop is crafted from 12 oz. vegetable-tanned leather, sourced from U.S. steers and tanned in the USA. The strop also includes a latigo leather strap making it a more flexible item, while the entire piece is treated with neatsfoot oil for longevity. No additional oiling needed for years.
The compound was acquired separately, but tested in the same strop to ensure good results.
