Blade Show West - Orbital Knives
Share
And just like that, our first show as a knife company is over. Blade Show West was a blast. First off, we want to thank everyone who stopped by our booth. Thank you for being there, and for your support. We were very surprised by the amount of people that came through those doors already knowing who we are, and wanting to check out our knives after seeing them somewhere online.
Our Blade Show West Backdrop
For a while I was thinking about what to design to have as a backdrop. We don't have a huge lineup yet, and we also don't have a huge budget for things that aren't knife productions. So then, it hit me.
The idea of a simple backdrop for you guys to sign was great, but it was even better when we saw you all doing it. By the end of the show, it looked awesome :)
We were glad to also provide sitting and free drinks to everyone. As knife guys that have been to a bunch of knife shows before, we know it can be exhausting to be walking all day long... no matter how much you love knives, eventually, you get tired. It was cool to see some of you come back after many hours, and take a sit, and have a drink with us. We loved that.
The Large Callisto at Blade Show West
We want to apologize to everyone that asked us for a Large Callisto. While we are excited that so many of you wanted to get your hands on one, as you now know, we don't sell prototypes. We use our prototypes to learn from, and to ensure a good production run.
Production on the Large Callisto knives should be done by the end of the year. Just scroll to the bottom of our website (or click here) to subscribe to our email list. It is the best way to stay up to date on the drop and even get a discount for it before it launches.
Blade Show West Analysis
All Blade Shows are always fun to me. Even though I had been to numerous blade shows before, being there as an exhibitor was a complete different experience. For the first time ever I didn't have to worry about my budget because I didn't even have time to shop around. But now, let's talk about the show itself.
I believe this Blade Show was the smallest blade show I have ever been to. Don't get me wrong. It was a great (GREAT!) show for us. But there were a lot of companies I was expecting to see that just didn’t show. A lot of people I was hoping to see that just didn’t show. I guess my expectations were different on that end. I keep hearing of the two smaller Blade Shows, Texas takes the lead, but that is a hard pill to swallow for us. It is just expensive for us to keep traveling all over. Just thinking about the amount of prototypes and ideas we could work on with that money.
That said, I was excited to be there, to see you all, and of course hope to see you all again in future shows. We are doing everything we can to be able to make it to Blade Show Atlanta. We feel that show is a MUST for us.
Before I forget... since some of you couldn’t make it to the show, here’s a little something for you, and for the few who actually read words on a website (a rare breed these days), you’ve earned it. Use code blad3sh0w25 for 15% off storewide. Treat yourself.
Thank you all so much for sticking around as we try to get Orbital Knives off the ground. We enjoy your support, and it motivates us to keep going.
Until the next one :)
