Red Mark Knife - A Collaboration with Tenable.

There has always been a divide between everyday carry knives and hunting knives. One is marketed as a compact utility tool for daily tasks, while the other is often designed larger, heavier, or more specialized. But in practice, those categories overlap far more than many people think.

That idea became the foundation of the Red Mark, my latest collaboration with Tenable Knives.

The goal was simple: create a fixed blade that feels equally at home opening boxes around town as it does processing game in the field.

One Knife, Two Worlds

When people picture a hunting knife, they often imagine something large and intimidating. While there are certainly situations where bigger blades shine, I don't believe an effective hunting knife needs to be oversized.

What matters is control.

A well designed drop point offers excellent versatility. It provides enough belly for skinning and general field work while keeping the tip strong and precise for more delicate cuts. That same control also makes it an outstanding choice for everyday tasks.

The Red Mark was designed around that philosophy. Instead of trying to make an EDC knife capable of hunting, or a hunting knife that simply carries well, I wanted to create a knife where neither use feels like a compromise.

Designed for Precision

One feature I'm especially excited about is the dual jimping arrangement.

The knife includes traditional jimping along the spine near the handle for a secure grip during heavier cutting. It also features a second jimping section farther forward, allowing users to choke up on the blade for maximum control when precision matters most.

When you're making careful cuts while field dressing game or tackling detailed everyday work, having both grip positions gives the knife a level of versatility that shines in fixed blades of this size.

Accessible by Design

One of the reasons I was excited to collaborate with Tenable Knives is their commitment to producing quality knives at budget-friendly prices.

Great knife design shouldn't be reserved only for premium price tags.

Working with Tenable allows the Red Mark to reach a much wider audience, making it an attractive option for anyone looking for a dependable fixed blade without spending hundreds of dollars.

Still in Development

The Red Mark is currently in the prototype phase. We're actively testing samples, refining details, and making adjustments to ensure the final production model performs exactly as intended.

No production has started yet, which means there is still work being done behind the scenes before it becomes available.

As with every design I work on, I'd rather spend extra time getting the details right than rush a knife to market.

The Red Mark represents a design philosophy I've believed in for a long time: versatility doesn't have to come with compromise. A fixed blade can be compact enough for everyday carry, capable enough for the outdoors, and affordable enough to be within reach of almost anyone.

I'm excited to continue refining it with the team at Tenable, and I can't wait to share the finished product when it's ready.
